Leading Stoker George Henry Williams
Recent research on my Williams ancestry has uncovered an interesting story.George was a crew member on HMS Aradne in 1917 off Beachy Head when she was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine. He survived unhurt but 38 officers and rating died. George was married to Minnie Elizabeth Williams (no idea of her maiden name)The last address for them was 288 Wilton Road,Weston Super Mare.Somerset.I would like to know if they had any children.George was born in W S M in November 1887. Any help really appreciated,Gerry
The Williams family originate from St Anthony in Meneage,Cornwall, circa 1700's.
They move almost continually to Mawgan in Meneage then Helston, Falmouth.
Worcestershire then Brooklyn,USA.Back to England circa 1881 Colchester Essex.
When a serious earthquake hit the Wivenhoe-Colchester in 1884 the Williams family
move to Newcastle upon Tyne.England.Recent research via Ydna testing has shown
that we have Norse/Viking ancestry.
