Palmer, Mummery, Nicholson, Beerling, Wagstaff and Osborn
Robert PALMER born 1863 Margate married SARAH BOLDEN. A Son, ROBERT born 1796 married in 1821 ELIZABETH BAYLEY whose Mother was a MUMMERY. Only 2 children found for ROBERT and ELIZABETH, namely ELIZABETH ANN born cir. 1830 and my gt. grandmother LAVINIA MUMMERY PALMER born 1840. It appears that ELIZABETH married JOHN BEERLING in 1863. At the 1881 Census there were three children, Louisa M born cir.1866, Maud, cir.1870 and Minnie cir.1873. LAVINIA MUMMERY PALMER MARRIED, probably between 1862 and 1865, CHRISTOPHER NICHOLSON, born WEST WITTON, YORKS., They had two known children, Christopher, 1866 who married an EMMA WAGSTAFF and Charles Richard 1871 who married LYDIA MARTHA OSBORN. At the 1901 Census there was a LAVINIA NICHOLSON born MARGATE aged 2yrs, but whether she was a child of Christopher & Emma nee Wagstaff, I cannot be sure. In 1883, there was a marriage of a LAVINIA NICHOLSON, but cannot tie this in as LAVINIA MUMMERY NICHOLSON still shows herself as a Widow at the 1901 Census. In the 18th century, two Palmer females were given middle names of CROFTS and THOMPSON. As yet I can find no reason for this.
