Entries around
Geldart or Geldard in Aycliffe
Interested in exchanging information about the GELDART (often recorded as GELDARD) family living in Aycliffe. These included Richard & Ann (nee GREY) who were probably born about 1770 and their children William (b~1789), John (b~1792) and Elizabeth (b~1794). John was a weaver and first married Dorothy CARLTON (he later married Margaret Hannah WHITE) by whom he had several children (William 1815, Richard 1818, John 1820, George 1822, Margaret 1825 and Ann 1828). Thank you.

red mail James Robson Wilson (1819-1881)
James Robson Wilson was my Gt Gt Grandfather. At the time of the 1871 census he was living in Heighington Street with his wife Hannah (nee Carter). He was a land surveyor at the time and possibly had business premises in the village. His mother, Ann Wilson (31) is buried in St. Andrew's churchyard, in the same grave as her father, James Robson. My Gt Gt Grandfather James Robson Wilson and his wife Hannah were both eventually buried in St Andrew's churchyard (possibly in the same family grave) in 1881 and 1882 respectively. They were residents of Darlington at the time. Any infromation regarding the Wilsons in Aycliffe or pictures of the village in the 1870's would be particularly welcome. Charles
