From The Century Cyclopedia of Names 1895 Joanna Baillie was born at Bothwell, Lanarkshire 11th September 1762 and died at Hampstead 23rd February 1851. A Scotch dramatist and poet. She wrote - 'Plays on the Passions' 1802-36, in which she delineatesthe principle passions of the mind, each passion being made the subject of a tragedy and a comedy. She was also the author of the poems - 'Lines to Agnes Baillie on her Birthday' - 'The Kitten' and 'To a Child'

I am searching for info on the children of Wm & Mary McBride Lilly. I do know that Wm & Mary along with some of their children came to the US. around the early 1900's. I believe 2 or 3 children stayed behind in the Bellshill/Bothwell area of Scotland. Their names were Janet Lilly Givens,William Lilly and John Lilly. I was hoping to find some living relatives that I may correspond with. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'd love to hear from any descendants of Alexander Pollock and Margaret Donaldson who were married in Bothwell 1862. Their son John (b Bothwell 1866) was my great grandfather. He in turn married Mary Penman Kerr (1866 - 1937) in Old Monklands. Alex and Margaret's other children were George Donaldson, Peter Gordon (who went to Canada?)William, James were all born in Bothwell. Alexander was born in Old Kilpatrick, Dumbarton.
