red mail Family of Hennessey and Carroll
In 1825 Thomas Hennessey and his wife, Nancy "Anne" Carroll left Fermoy with the Peter Robinson Settlers to Ontario Canada, taking their children. In 1828-9, Thomas Hennessey was killed by being kicked in the head by a horse in a farm accident in Peterborough Co. Ontario, Canada. Anne Carroll Hennessey remarried to Patrick Flaherty from Kilwroth parish, Co. Cork. He was born just over the county border in Tipperary. Anne Carroll Hennessey Flaherty's grave stone says she was born in Castlehyde. I would like to find others researching the Hennessey family of the Fermoy area and the Carroll family of Fermoy and Castlehyde.
