Entries around
Cunningham / Callaghan
Looking for ancestry of John Cunningham (tailor) born circa 1814, Galway or County Clare and Levinah /Lavinia Callaghan, born circa 1816, possibly County Clare or Cork. Other source (IGI) says they were married in Killaloe Diocese 1834 but I have no evidence of this. Family folklore has it that Levinah was from a wealthier family who were opposed to her liaison with John Cunningham and they married without the family's blessing. (She may have been related to Callaghans of O' Callaghan's Mills.) First children were William (1837) Ann (1843) Mary (1850) Levinah (1852) Frances (1855) all born in Ireland. The family moved to Sheffield and two subsequent children John (1858) and Martha (1859) were born there. They were linked to the Lyons family through marriage. Ann married John Lyons at Sheffield in 1861. Any help would be appreciated.
