red mail Johnson / Croston in 'Lick' Skibereen area
I am trying to find information on births, marriage, parents names or anything about my great great grandparents Samuel Johnson b.abt 1810 and his wife Mary Ann Croston b. abt 1816 (in Cork according to England census') they left Cork around 1849 - 50 and went to Newport Monmouthsire in Wales. They had 4 children with them all born in county Cork and on later English census' are recorded as born in 'Lick' Cork. They were: Martha b.abt 1840/ Ann abt.1842 / Eliza abt.1844 and John abt.1849. Family word of mouth had always been that Samuel Johnson came from Scotland and so was a surprise to find this Irish connection instead, does anyone know anything about people from Scotland migrating to this part of Ireland, I have not been able to find anything in regard to Cork. Many thanks for any help on this Kind regards.

red mail COLLINS, John, born 1835-45
John Collins was a Mason's Labourer, born in County Cork. He was the father of John Francis Collins (a bookbinder), who was born 1868 in Skibbereen (though his birth record isn't there). John Francis married Frances Elizabeth Usher in Clerkenwell, London in 1890. I'm looking for John's spouse and his parents who could be James Collins and Catherine Barry - confirmation sorely needed. Any information, whether to confirm or deny, will be gratefully received.

red mail O'Reilly or McCarthy
Difficult but my great great grandmother, Johanna left Ireland as one or the other. I cannot find her in the 1841 England census but she is living or married to my Gt grandfather Daniel in Thornbury by 1851. All I know is she is likely to have been born around 1816-1820. If she's in England it's probably in the Bristol area or Wales, probably the Monmouth or Abergavenny area. My hunch is she was born an O'Reilly but then married a McCarthy, largely gleaned by the process of elimination and her subsequent children's birth certificates but any clues gratefully received.
