red mail James Kelly
Hi, Im looking for any information about surviving relatives of James Kelly, born I think January 1934, died 26th January 1969 in Brighton, where he had gone to find work (in late 1950s I think). Im his daughter, born January 1964 in Brighton. He had a younger brother Robert, and I believe other younger siblings. I have met Roberts grandson Andy, who told me that the whole family were aware of me, and that Id been given up for adoption-their mother, whose maiden name was, I think, Byrne, was insistent that I be found. So, any info about Jamess siblings or any other family - I believe they are still in Thomastown - would be great. Thanks.

red mail Lee, Lees, Ley, Lea: Starting the search.
I have been curious about my Lee family roots which according to relatives always came across as being "Irish". My Great Grandfather Hugh Sebastian Lee was born about 1867. Supposedly, sailed by ship from the City of Cork to USA. His father may have been named "Thomas". He was apparently in the USA to have married my Great Grandmother Anne P. Lee (died March 19, 1954) since they had two sons John Howard Lee (1898- 1973) and William John Lee (1901-1976). Hugh Sebastian Lee lived most of his life in the Chicago Illinois area. He died on August 24, 1934 from a heart attack or stroke. John Howard Lee never had any known children. William John Lee, my grandfather, married Agnes Delinski and had two children with her, Nancy (b1925- ?) and my father Hugh Sebastian Lee (1928-1995). I am NOT sure about my Great Grandfather actually being born in Ireland or the UK. Possibly Thomas (Great Great Grandfather) came from Ireland thus having my Great Grandfather being born in the USA. My grandfather and dad did not care about any of this stuff so what I heard was that of a very young child from my relatives when they did speak about family (very rare occurrence). There was supposedly a cousin to my Grandfather also named Thomas who had 23 children..... could be a family myth. There was also possibly some State of Ohio (USA) connection.... What make this even more confusing is that connecting with other people on sites like this.... I have come up with another possiblity: .According to the 1880 US Census, a man named Thomas Lee born in Ohio in 1836 was married to a woman named Alphareta born in Ohio in 1856. They lived in a rural area west of Dayton, Ohio. Alphareta appears to be his second wife. He had three children by his first wife Olive M Minkler (born Sept 23 1842, marriage Sept 22 1858). The three children from Olive were Luedgar Lee, male, born 1861; Emma J. Lee, female, born 1864; and Hugh Lee, male, born 1867...... Alphareta, only 24 years old herself with step children ages 19, 16, and 13, gave birth to a son in 1878 named Lur Lee. What really makes this interesting is that this Thomas Lee's parents were both born in Virginia which means a very strong possibility of a strong relationship to Richard Henry Lee, Light Horse Harry Lee (both leaders in the "Rebellion" starting in 1776) and thus General Robert E. Lee, Commander of the Army of Virginia, C.S.A. (American Civil War). That means my ancestry is more "English" than "Irish". I hope someone has a key. I know that I am going to have to start getting some death certificates. Thank you.

Searching for information regarding my maternal grandfather's family, Deegan, of Thomastown, Kilkenny.
red mail farmers in thomastown area
I think that both my grandparents came from Thomastown, my Grandfather was Patrick Brennan, worked at the Monster House in Thomastown for several years as a tailor. My grandmother was Johanna Brennan, I think she had three batchelor brothers who farmed and I believe all of them died within a few months of each other. Sorry don't know any names. My grandfather went to the US for a few months but came home again. I think he had family there already emigrated. Wish I knew more about them all. They had five children James, Jack, Norah, Eileen, and Annie. My grandfather died when I was very young, my poor grandmother outlived all her children except Norah.
