red mail Swaffield/Bridle
I am researching the family of Joseph Swaffield (d.1762, buried Burton Bradstock 3/9/1762) and Elizabeth Bridle (b.1717 d.1759, married 1736) as I am directly related to them. I know they had two sons, John (b.1731 d. 1818) and George (b.1737) and that my line descends from George who married Mary Hawkins in 1756. Does anyone have any information about any other family members from this time i.e. did Joseph and Elizabeth have any other children? Who were Josephs parents? I have no details of Mary Hawkins either except her marriage to George in 1756, so any info here would be appreciated. Ryan

red mail Robert Thorner
I am researching Robert Thorner from North Baddesley, a wealthy man who in 1690 bequeathed all his real estate in the city of London to his executors and the rents to be used for the maintenance of a free school (Thorner's School) in Litton Cheyney, Dorset. I have a number of relatives of the same surname (Thorner) from Litton Cheyney and nearby Burton Bradstock dating back to 1750 and wonder if anyone knows why Mr Thorner would wish to fund a school so far from his home in North Baddesley Nr Southampton. I am hoping he is related in some way to the Thorner's who settled in these villages.
