red mail Laws family Chopwell
Looking for information about the Laws family who lived in Chopwell at one time- I know about Anthony Laws who was born 1879 at Spen County Durham, and in the 1891 census is listed as living at 23 Chopwell Cottages, Garesfield, Chopwell, with his mother Sarah (a widow), his sisters Margaret, Hannah and Sarah, and brother John, plus a lodger called William Laws who is also, I believe, a relative. John & William are coal miners. I'm trying to solve a family mystery about Laws family connections. I believe that the above Anthony is related to my great great grandfather Anthony Laws, shoemaker, born 1820, died 1860- perhaps a grandson.
