sweeney family
I have now identified some further information on the info below but need additional help to try to move further forward. Bernard Sweeneys father was called william sweeney and he married in Thurles Tipperary on the 25th July 1847 to Mary Donoghue. The marriage was witnessed by Judith Donoghue and John Nolan. Any help appreciated. Trying to find any information regarding the sweeney family. Family may have had links to both the post office and the bakery in Moyne at some time. I am trying to find details of Bernard and Kate Sweeney whose were both born in Ireland and whose daughter Anastasia Murphy (nee Sweeney) is my mothers grandmother. This element of the family moved to Kirkdale in Liverpool. Bernard may have been born around 1850 and Kate around 1838. Anastasia apparently also had two sisters one called Hannah and one called Joannah (not sure about the spellings) Have also just found a birth record for Edward O'Sweeney who was also one of bernards family. He was born in Moyne on 2 August 1877. It also shows Bernard O'Sweeney as his father and Catherine Connell (mother) and shows Bernard as the Postmaster which ties in with details given by other members of the family. Any help appreciated.

red mail JOHN MAHER
Would like to hear from any related persons who may have information on the family of Patrick Maher who married Mary Tierney 27/11/1828 c Templetuohy. Their children were Patrick b 1829, Thomas b 1832, Ellen b 1834, Michael b 1836, Daniel b 1841, John b 1843. John left to make a life in Australia in the 1860's. He married Margaret Marra, also from Ireland, who died shortly after the fourth child was born. His second wife, was Catherine Kennedy, daughter of convicts, and she had 5 more children. Interestingly John named his Australian born children after all his siblings and parents in Ireland.
