red mail Bradbourne
My grandma Emma Ann Twigg was 21 when she married grandad Thomas Richard Mather in 1911. At the time she was residing at The Dukelands, Bradbourne. Her father was Samuel Twigg farm labourer and her mother Ellen. Not sure if she lived at this above address or worked there in domestic service.
red mail Kniveton
My Grandparents were Thomas and Emma Mather(Emma was nee Twigg from Parwich) . Thomas's mother was Esther (nee Mellor) and kept the postoffice in the early part of 1900's she was also a dressmakeer.I had several uncles who had prominent positions in the village ie wheelwright, blacksmiths. Esther's husband William was the postmaster. My mother was Annie Elizabeth Mather (1911-2002). She was friendly with the Mellors of Kniveton (her cousins?)and also Unwins and Bill Beard wheelwright. Can anyone remember any of the family? My uncle Raymond Mather lived at the family home of Croftdene until his move to Ashbourne a few years ago with wife Dora. Gwen
