Does anyone have information about the Jones family who lived in part of Tirowen Gwyn during the 1881 Wales census. Family members: John Jones born abt 1833 in Llangadock,Carmarthenshire Mary Jones (wife of John)born abt 1832 in Llangadock, Carmarthenshire Son: Henry Jones, born abt 1862 in Llanguicke,Glamorganshire Daughter:Elizabeth Jones, born abt 1871 in Llanguicke, Glamorganshire Daughter:Hannah Jones, born abt 1873 in Llanguicke, Glamorganshire Daughter: Elinor(possible misprint for Eleanor)Jones born abt 1875 in Llanguicke, Glamorganshire. Address in 1881 part of Tirowen Gwyn. I believe due to my research into my family tree that Eleanor Jones is a great grandmother of mine who married a John Davies of Ystradfellte, Breconshire. They both lived and died in Ystradgynlais Breconshire.

He married CarolineElizabeth May though the date of this marriage is not known as yet. In 1907 he was the licensee of the White Lion Hotel in Colston Avenue, Bristol. At some point in time he returned with his family to Wales and became the owner? of the BryndulaisHotel, Seven Sisters, Neath. red mail John family
Hi, I'm trying to trace any family related or linked to my great-grandmother, Blodwen John. Blodwen was born in Pontarddulais in 1892. Her parents are Thomas Benjamin John (b abt 1865 in Llangiwg) and Miriam Hughes (b abt 1868 in Llangyfelach). Blodwen had 7 siblings: Elizabeth (b abt 1890 in Rhyndwyclydach), Thomas B (b abt 1891 in Llanguick), James/Jim (b abt 1894 born in ?), William (b 1896 in Swansea), Sarah (b abt 1900), May (b abt 1903) and Danny (b abt 1904). The last 3 children were born in South Africa. We think Miriam's parents were Joseph and Eliza Hughes, and that she had 7 siblings: William, Margaret, James, Joseph, John, Susannah and Mary. Unfortunately we don't have much information regarding Thomas Benjamin John, escept that he possibly lived with his grandparents, John and Sarah Griffiths in Craig Y Merched in 1871 and then with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Maria Jones/John in Llanguick in 1881. I would appreciate any help or information. Many thanks, Sue
