R. Flockhart
My Uncle Arthur Hill Park married Winifred Nash at the Trinity Church Manse in Renfrew on the 1st July 1948. One of the witnesses was R. Flockhart of 76 Forgewood Road, Motherwell. Partly because I have Flockhart ancestors on the other side of my family, I would be very interested in any information about this witness. Was he perhaps one of my uncle's friends from the time he spent in S. Africa with the Air Force during WWII?

red mail Lucy Hughes - William MacKinnon (Dalziel)
Lucy Hughes (daughter of Patrick Hughes & Rose Friel) b c1896 in Dalziel, Motherwell, Lanark, married William MacKinnon (son of Angus MacKinnon & Rose Ann McCluskey) on 31 Dec 1919 in Motherwell. They had at least 4 children: 1. Angus - 1920 2. William - 1923 3. Mary - 1927 4. Unknown sex or name after 1927. William may have been a Pilot? His siblings all born in Motherwell were: 1. Joseph (my grandfather) 2. John 3. Peter 4. Angus 5. Mary 6. Ann 7. Rose Ann 8. Donald 9. Thomas 10. Neil. Most of the family emigrated to Canada 1920's. In 1927 William & Lucy lived at 99 Wellington St, Dalziel, Motherwell, Lanark, Scotland. Does anyone know anything about this family after 1927? William was a son of my ggrandfather - uncle of my father (now deceased), so he would be my great uncle & I would love to be in contact with any of his descendants. Anne

red mail Henry PITTOCK & Sarah MCINTOSH
My great great grandfather was Henry PITTOCK and according to the 1881 census he was born around 1850 in Milford, Yorkshire which I take to be now called South Milford near Leeds. In 1873 in Liverpool he married Sarah MCINTOSH (born c1853 in Dundee) and in 1881 they were living in Barrow in Furness before moving to Motherwell with their (at that time) 5 children around 1887. The children were James (c1874), Sarah Ann (my great grandmother - 1875), Betsy (c1877), Henry (c1879), Isabella (c1880) all born in Barrow in Furness, and finally Donald (1887) born in Motherwell. Donald died in 1939 in hospital in Glasgow, and Sarah Ann died in 1962 in Motherwell. Both parents had died by 1939. Henry was listed on census as an Iron Smelter or possibly Steel Hammerman and they presumably moved to Motherwell when the iron/steel industry was expanding. Family legend has it that they were of Romany origin but that is extremely doubtful at best. Does anyone have any relevant information on any of the PITTOCK family? Thanks in advance.

red mail Yule, Gray, Young & Pittock
My great great grandmother was Agnes YULE who was born in 1850 in Midmar, Aberdeenshire. Her parents were Alexander YULE (c1830) and Jean GRAY (c1830) and I don’t know where they were born. Agnes YULE married Allan YOUNG (born c1842, perhaps in Ayr) in Glasgow in 1871 and they had a son John YOUNG (born c1873 in Motherwell) who married Sarah Ann PITTOCK in 1893 in Motherwell. Agnes YULE died in 1932 in Pitlochry, although her usual address was listed on her death certificate as 112 Parkhead St, Motherwell, and since she died of a stroke which was presumably sudden and unexpected I guess she may have been on holiday, or visiting someone in Pitlochry. Does anyone have any relevant information, or can I assist anyone else who's researching the same people?

red mail Jones & McFarlane
My great great grandparents were John JONES and Mary MCFARLANE who were born around 1836, perhaps in Motherwell. John was a coalminer. They married in 1856, and had a son, William JONES, who was born in Motherwell in 1892 and who was also a coalminer. William married Annie Maud TIFFIN in 1915 in Motherwell, and they had 5 daughters, all born in Motherwell: Mary (my grandmother, 1916), Ruby (1919), Williamina (1921, but died as an infant), Ruth (1924 but died as an infant), and Annie (1934). Mary married John WATSON, then after they divorced she married William YOUNG, my grandfather. Does anyone have any relevant information, or can I assist anyone who is researching the same people? In particular I’d be interested to get more details on John JONES and Mary MCFARLANE.

I dont know what his parents name were but he had a sister called Shona who apparently now lives in Australia or New Zealand. My father has passed away but I want to know if my grandparents are alive. John Mason would have been close to 70 years old now and was a coded welder, he married a South African lady called Jennifer.
red mail Isabella Frew White Dalziel/Motherwell - Ontario Canada
Looking for more info on Isabella Frew White born 01/10/1878 at 38 Park Street, Motherwell, (Dalziel), Lanarkshire, Scotland. She married John Stewart in Edinburgh on 30/7/1909. She had worked in the rubber works around Fountainbridge where she would have become friends of the sisters of her husband to be. She and her husband John Stewart emigrated after their marriage to Canada. John killed in action in WW1 fighting as a Canadian in Belgium, 13th April, 1916. Isabella and John lived in Mountain Street, Merritton, Ontario but when John was killed Isabella moved to Main Street, Port Dalhousie, Ontario still the St. Catharines area. Would love to get some more info on them but only thing I know is the last known address of John's sister also Isabella (Stewart) nickname Bell, who married Peter Campbell in Canada and adopted a girl called Muriel in Edinburgh and took her back to Canada, the address was 210 Alfred Street, Kingston, Ontario.
red mail Watson Family
Looking for any information on children of Hugh Shaw Watson married to Edith Grant. Hugh died in WW1 and left behind 3 children, Edith May (my grandmother) Elizabeth and William Shaw. I understand that William may have left to work on railways in Canada in the 1920s. Elizabeth set sail to Nova Scotia with her passage paid for by the YWCA. I cannot find any further traces of them anywhere, so any information would be gratefully received.
