red mail Kirk
Catharine Kirk born c.1817. Catharine was my gg grandmother. She married a Henry Stevens in London in 1838 and had a daughter called Louisa but then was widowed and married my gg grandfather, William Weston in St Pancras, London. I believe he had a business in Covent Garden. In census returns she gives her place of birth as Leicester but i think she may be the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Kirk of Mountsorrel. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has any info on the Kirk family either in Mountsorrel or Leicester.
red mail Hunt

red mail Smiths in Mountsorrel
I am interested in the SMITH family who lived in Mountsorrel from at least the early nineteenth century to the late 20th and may still be there. JAMES (born 1817) and his wife SARAH were framework knitters. Their son THOMAS (born 1851) worked in the quarries but by 1901 was a self employed barker and grazier. His son was WILLIAM HARRY (born 1877), another quarryman, who married ELIZA BETTS. Their children were CECIL (my grandfather, born 1907) CLARENCE, FRANCIS, GRACE, JEAN, ALF and FLORENCE. I'd be interested to hear from anyone researching this family.
red mail Hood or Hoed in Mountsorrel
I am trying to research my family. I am looking for a Jan Hoed or Hood, whom I find as a member of the Mount Sorrel Parish church. I find no such village so I am suppose it may be Mountsorrel, since the other Mount Sorrel is also listed as being in Leicestershire. One record has Jan Hood 1585 of Bardon Park, Lei. I belive this Jan Hoed or perhaps his child, immigrated to Rotterdam and then to the US where his decendants from Jaspar Hoed are documented. If there is antone who reads this with information I would so apreciate your contact! Thanks Kindly.
