Hannah, wife of Thomas Burton, died 1799 and Thomas is described as "Ale Draper of Water Lane". Their son William married a widow, Sarah Lawson (nee Lewis) at Market Weighton in 1816. Their first child, Ann, was baptized at Market Weighton in 1817 and William is described as an "Alehouse Keeper". By 1819, when their next child Sophia was born, the family are at Pendoylan (Pendeulwyn) and William is described as "Landlord of the Red Lion". Sarah's father was landlord of the Old Post at Bonvilston, the next village. There were a further seven children and William died at Pendoylan in 1876. Any info on this family, especially pre 1819, would be gretly appreciated.
