red mail Evans family in Pontlottyn
I am searching for members of the Evans family in Pontlottyn. Our cousin is George Evans, aka "Honey Boy" Evans, the American minstrel. I'm trying to figure how exactly how he connects to our Evans line as a cousin. Our immigrant ancestor was Richard Evans who emigrated to America before 1672 and who died in Maryland about 1703. I'm wondering if Richard lived near Pontlottyn. But, truthfully, I'm not even sure that he was Richard EVANS in Wales. It might have been something else.
red mail Herbert family of Pontlottyn
Seeking information on Martha Herbert, believed to have been born in Pontlottyn around 1864/5.Siblings and Mothers names unknown. Father believed to be John Herbert - a collier. Martha may have married William Bevan (born about 1862/3 in Talgarth), in Vaynor Parish Church in 1887. Martha may have lived at Cwm Taf Fawr Vaynor prior to her marriage to William. William and Martha later lived at No 11 and then No 13 Graig Rd Ynyshir Glamorganshire from the 1890's onwards. Not a lot to go on, I know, but if any of it rings a bell, I would love to hear from you. Many thanks
