red mail Forestier Walker family
I'm trying to find any information about Rosemary, oldest daughter of Sir Leolin Charles Forestier Walker and Alice (n.Blandy-Jenkins), and sister to Daphne. According to the 1901 Census they lived in Park House, variously of Michaelstone-y-Yedw, Craig, Machen, Rhiwderin and were there at least until 1934. Rosemary was born in Bassaleg in August 1898, married John Griffiths in July 1925 and died in St Winifreds Hospital Cardiff in 1958. In 1911 the family had 6 servants - Mary Jane, Hannah and Elizabeth Baker, Frederick Robinson, Frank Coates, Beatrice Smith and Grace Dobedoe(?) Rosemary Forestier Walker had an illegitimate son - my father - on 29 December 1921 at Hillcrest Winterbourne; Annie Johns was present at the birth. The baby was given away. I'm trying to trace my father's father. Can anyone help?
red mail Clyde Rees/Beatrice Waters
Seeking info re Clyde Rees who married Beatrice Waters in 1935. Both lived in Rhiwderin at that time.
red mail Dr David & Mrs Olive BUCKLEY
I am searching for descendants of Olive (nee KELLY) and Dr David BUCKLEY who lived at Bassleg near Newport in the 1950s, 60, and possibly the 1970’s.
red mail George James
My Great Grandfather George James was born in Rhiwderin - his occupation was Steel Worker (I believe he worked at the Tin Works) - he had a brother John James also living with the family and in the 1901 Census we have detail of George living at Vulcan Cottages Rhiwderin with his family. George was married to Elizabeth Jones from Llangunnor. Their children were Mary Elizabeth James - (married Tom Parkes and went to live in California) John James - died in WW1 - Charles James, Catherine James (died age 9) and Hannah born after the census was taken. Also living with them was brother John James born in Usk - he is said to have died in a Haystack fire. Anyone having knowledge of George/John James father John James - Hurdle Maker Master, (mothers name not known at this point) or any other siblings - please contact. The family moved to Newport and finally lived in Aylesbury St where youngest son Thomas was born.
