red mail grocers/greengrocers in 1930's
I am trying to trace my grandparents who lived in Senghenydd in the 1930's. They owned a shop that sold fruit and sweets and i seem to remember my mother saying it was in commercial street. My grandparents names were Elizabeth Mary Davies (nee rogers) and Daniel James Davies. She died in around 1937/8 and he in the early 1960's. I cannot locate the churchyard where they are buried, although i know it was in a churchyard surrounded by a high stone wall and their grave was on the front row. Any info would help.

red mail Looking for Lionel Newcombe born 1905.
Hello from Australia. I am looking for any information on Lionel Newcombe. Lionel was the twin brother of my father, Roy Newcombe who emigrated to Australia in 1927. Lionel was living in Senghenydd in 1927 as he attended his father's funeral on 2 August of that year. There is no record of my father attending the funeral. He may have already left for Australia. After that Lionel seems to have 'disappeared'. He and my dad were born in Station House, Bedlinog, South Wales on 1 September 1905. Their mother was Elizabeth Newcombe. If anyone has any information on what happened to Lionel I will be very grateful. I have been searching for him for over ten years. Elizabeth. Darwin, Australia.
