red mail CRAIG
Seeking information about Alexander CRAIG (father John CRAIG, mother Agnes (McMURRAY) CRAIG, born about 1826 in Banbridge Co Down Ireland. Alexander married Isabella WILSON possibly in 1851 in Banbridge Ireland, but was living in Springburn at least from 1856 as records of children born while there: Samuel CRAIG born and died 1856, Samuel CRAIG born 1858, Margaret CRAIG born 1860 (died December 1863?) and Alexander CRAIG 1864. There was an older child John CRAIG born 1852 in Ireland. Seeking any information about Alexander's life in Springburn, including employment/means of support and what living in Springburn during mid 1850s to mid 1860s would have been like. Alexander Isabella and children emigrated to New Zealand in 1864 as assisted migrants, along with Robert CRAIG, Alexander's 28 year old brother and Robert's wife Mary CRAIG. Robert CRAIG was born about 1835 also in Ireland. Alexander and Isabella CRAIG went on to have four more children in New Zealand.
