red mail Price Stratten Stourbridge and Hull
Trying to find out more about Eleanor Gertrude Price, born in Stourbridge in 1861. Her parents Rowland Price (b.c1817) and Emily Fisher (b.c1817) married in Old Swinford, Worcs in August 1837. Their first child Georgina Emily was born in 1838. EG Price married Thomas Stratten from Hull in 1897 in South Africa. Know very little about her childhood other than that she was living with Owen family in Oldham in 1881 - and went to Cambridge as a student, and became a teacher. In 1891 she is in Harwich, Essex with her elder sister Sarah, born in 1851. Cannot find her in 1871 Census. She died in 1923.

red mail Leeson
Neale family believed to have originated in the Slawston area of Leicestershire with a Moses Neale who was married to a Anne, they had several children between 1756 and 1767. One of the children, John born 1759 married an Elizabeth Marlow in 1785 and they too had several children, one of which was Joseph born 1788. He married a Mary Cort in 1815 in Leicester. The couple had many children, in particular a Elizabeth (Betsey) NOT to be confused with her elder sibling Eliza. The family lived around the East Street (1841) and Dunkirk Street (1851) area’s. Joseph was a bricklayer as was his father. Elizabeth left home following the early death of her mother, Mary, in 1839 and was believed to have worked for a hosiery manufacturer. In 1843 Elizabeth gave birth to a boy, William Henry Neale whilst living back at East Street, no father’s name was on certificate. 1851 The Neale family including Betsey (26) and young Henry (8) were living with Joseph in Dunkirk Street. 1852 Elizabeth Neale married a Henry Leeson, a tailor from Leicester at All Saints. The couple then moved to Stourbridge in Worcestershire. 1871 Park Street, Stourbridge. Henry Leeson, 47 a tailor born Leicester. Elizabeth, wife 46, bonnet maker born Leicester. John B. son 14 rail clerk and Jane E. 6, both born Stourbridge. The family continued to live in Stourbridge only when Henry died did Elizabeth return home to York Street Leicester to be with her elder sister Eliza according to 1901census. I am descended from William Henry Neale, family rumour always suggested that his father was FRISBY of Frisby and Jarvis, hosier’s. However in 1841 she is believed to have been housekeeper to Edward Hopkins in Albion Street? Oddly enough Hopkins was also a hosier and later in fact merged with Frisby Hosier factory which was in the Belvoir King street Welford street area. So was Hopkins the father or did Elizabeth meet William Smith Frisby, who was the same age as her or perhaps it was William Smith Frsiby’s father also called William who was the father of Elizabeth’s child? After all Elizabeth did name her child William Henry. Has anyone ever come across any details relating to this family or any others listed or any information on Hosiery Manufacturers, Frsiby and co, Edward Hopkins, Hopkins and Chawdry, Frisby and Chawdry and Frisby and Jarvis.
