Uren New Mills
Looking for descendants of John Uren, Madron, He had a Son ,William George who moved to Newcastle, William George served in Africa during either 1st or 2nd Boer War in the Royal Field artillery,Barracked in Newcastle upon Tyne, He Married Elizabeth Welch 1890 & adopted George Welch , born 05/10/1887, My Wife Susan Hannan's Grandad Who served & died in the Third battle of Passchendaele 13/09/1917, He served in the Royal Field Artillery too.
I am after information regarding Eliza Colledge who married John McCarron in 1874. She had two children - John Colledge McCarron and Elizabeth McCarron prior to her emigrating to Australia with her children. Not sure if John had died and she emigrated with her parents James Colledge and Elizabeth (nee Dudgeon). Any information on Eliza, husband John McCarron and her father James Colledge would be appreciated. James Colledge was a shoemaker, imprisoned in 1865. Was he a convict to Aust and the family followed? Thanks in advance

JAMES P THORNE (2nd Cousin) was born in CARDIFF on 29.01.1933. He married EDITH MARY (removed for security reasons) at OXFORD in 1960. His parents were HAYDEN RUDOLF THORNE and NORRIE LOUISE (removed for security reasons) , they lived in PENARTH GLAMORGAN. In 1988 EDITH MARY's address was WOOPLAW HOUSE, Galashiels. JAMES and EDITH had two children MAGNUS JAMES and LEWIS. In 1992 MAGNUS JAMES address was also WOOLPLAW HOUSE or maybe WOOPLAW FARM HOUSE, Galashiels. I would very much like to know more about the family and the area they lived in. If you are able to help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Cheryl

This is what I have traced of Thomas PRINGLE and Family so far. Thomas, was at Cowdenknowe Mains where Jane 1850, Catherine 1852, James 1854 and Ann 1857 were born. also possibly a John born 1850. 1851 census that may be them birth places dont match later census. Ellen or Helen 1858, George 1851, Thomas 1864, Joanna Barcklay, 1866, Henry 1868 and John 1870 weere born at Blinkbonnie, Nenthorn where Thomas was a Shepherd. 1881 Census Thomas was at Huntshaw Farm, Earlston a Shepherd 1891 Census Main Street , Earlston occupation Farmer 1901 Census 89 High Street, Earlston retired farmer Died 1910 Blackburn Rigg, Cockburnspath where he was living with hison George. Elizabeth BALLANTYNE Thomas's wife died in Earston 1900 ish. Any information gratefully received and recipricated Angus

Thomas was born in Abbey St Bathans, and was a farmer, Farm Worker and railway worker who settled in Earlston with a large family. Thomas died in the 1960s Thomas's father was William BELL, Blacksmith and Farmer married Janet KINGHORN 1880 at Auchencrow Mains, Coldingham. Janet died at Foulden Bastle 1921. One of Thomas's grandchildren married into the McDOUGAl family from Gordon. I would be interested in contact.
george uren New Mills
I have a birth certificate for george welch born at 5 newmills newcastle,my late mother in law said he was her father if so he must have been adopted.she never new him as sne was born in 1916 and he was killed in france in w w 1 1917,his name at death was george uren,(he married margaret harle in 1911) as is on her birth 1916 and marriage certificate 1934.I cant find a birth cert for george uren,very confusing.Can anybody help in my search.

Anne BLAIR was born on 27th Sept 1845 in Galashiels. She was the 3rd child of Christina SCOTT (ca. 1813 - 1878 in NZ) and Robert BLAIR (1813 - 1857)and grew up in Edinburgh. At the time of the 1871 Census Ann lived with her aunt Elizabeth MURRAY (nee SCOTT) at the Railway Hotel in Ladhope, Roxburghshire. On 5 Jun 1871 Ann married George TAKET /TACKET in Ladhope. George died just a years later in 1872 at the age of 39 years. Ann & George's only child Christina Blair TAKET, was born after her father's death on 19. Jan.1873 in Ladhope and died in 1874 in Ladhope. Having lost both her husband and her child, Ann followed her two brothers and mother to Dunedin, NZ. She sailed from Glasgow on the ship "Oamaru" in Nov. 1874. In 1878 Ann TACKET married Edward BENNETT in West Clive, Hawkes Bay. Annie Blair BENNETT died in 1890 in Clive and was buried at Hastings Cemetery. Her three living issues were: Elizabeth Maude BENNETT (born 1878), George Edward BENNETT (born 1882) and Millicent BENNETT (born 1887). I would love to hear from anyone researching this family.
