Hi, I'm looking for any information (including parents etc) of George Douglas Watson. Born: 29 Mar 1820 Uddingston, Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, Scotland He married Anna Cumming (Born: 1821 Culling, Aberdeenshire, Scotland), parents George Cumming and Mary Robertson. They were married 4 Jun 1852 in Glasgow. I believe they came to Australia in 1855 on the Golconda, with their young son, Thomas. They settled in the Sandhurst/Bendigo area of Vic, Australia. Thanks.

I am trying to find more info on my family on my fathers side, his parents were Frances Burns(nee) Laufer, and Robert Burns.Robert Burns my grandfather had one sister May.My father John and his parents lived in Carntyne, Glasgow and moved to Staten Island. USA. for a year around 1942-44, after living in Hillingdon in London. The Burns's lived in Main Street Uddingston, before moving to Myers Crescent around 1967. I only know that my fathers grandmother was named Oliche, and that Robert's sister May married a Wallace Garret who printed a newspaper in the Great Western Road in Glasgow, and they were members of the Plymouth Brethern Church in Uddingston, although living in Lenzie outside Glasgow then moving to Milngavie with his brother Moir Garret. My grandfather and grandmother and father John Burns finally settled in Uddingston until their deaths in sheltered accomodation.

I am looking for information on James Barclay. He was the Bandmaster for Aitkenhead Brass Band in the early 1900's. He lived at the Provident Buildings, round the corner from Millgate Farm. James Barclay was born in 1850 and was a coal miner. His wife was Helen Thompson Barclay, also born in 1850. Their address on the 1901 census was Young's Land, Thorniewood, Lanarkshire, Scotland. They were married in Hamilton, Lanarkshire in 1872.
