I believe that George Hicks was a pilot in the late 1870's early 1800's He and his wife Nancy (Hicks)were the parents of Florence, who married John EDDY in St Just in Penwith in 1832 I would like to know more about this family in the SCILLY ISLES. I cannot find George and Nancy on either of the 1841 and 1851 censuses in Cornwall After John EDDY died Florence married John FORD.Florence and John FORD later emigrated to Victoria, Australia and settled in Ballarat Any further info on this HICKS family would be appreciated
red mail Arnold, Nicholls
Thomas Arnold, born 1831 Sheffield, married Mary Ann Nicholls (from a Tresco family) in the Scillies 1860. He became lighthouse-keeper at Bishop's Rock and later (1870) Wolf Rock lighthouse. His parents John and Elizabeth ran a general dealer's shop on The Parade, St Mary's. Any info appreciated!

My 3rd Gt.Grandfather Henry FLUELLEN was appointed to St.Mary's Coastguard Station as probationary boatman 1 Apr 1820, until 16 Nov 1825 when he was transferred to Mousehole. With wife Susannah nee WOODLEY (married 1816 Exeter) & possibly 2 childrenSusannah & Mary, further children Henry (1821), James (1823), & Eliza (1824) were born on the island.
