Caroline Ricketts, formerly Bivand
Does anyone have any information about Caroline Ricketts, born c. 1820 probably in Worcester? I cannot trace a marriage certificate, but on the birth certificate of her 1st child (of 12 born to her and John Ricketts) she is listed as "formerly Bivand". At the time of the 1st child's birth (William, b. 1842) she was living in Silver Street, Worcester. All subsequent children were born in Birmingham. John was a cordwainer/boot-maker. There was a family with the surname of Bivand (or Bevan, for some family members) living in Worcester at the same time. The head of the family, Aaron, was also listed as a cordwainer. Although I have found a good deal of information about Caroline's life after she "married" John Ricketts, her early life and original maiden name remains a mystery. Any help would be appreciated.

red mail Fowkes/Cairns/Woolf
If anyone has access to the 1911 UK Census I would be extremely grateful for a look-up for Walter Fowkes, who lived at Edgbaston, Worcetershire. He is shown as having a spouse Rosetta Fowkes and there are mentioned children Rose, Gladys, Irene and Lilian Sarah. I would like to know the relationship of these children to Walter Fowkes. Walter E Fowkes married Rosetta Woolf in March qtr 1884 in Kings Norton but Lilian Sarah is the child of Mary Ann Cairns and Walter Fowkes who married in December Qtr 1883 in Derbyshire. Lilian Sarah was born in 1884. In subsequent census years 1891 and 1901 Walter is not shown living with his wife Mary Ann and she is living with her parents with her daughter in 1891 Census. If both Walter Fowkes are one and the same person unless they got a quicky divorce which would seem highly unlikely in those days I am thinking that Walter was perhaps a bigamist....any ideas and assistance would be much appreciated.

Tilt family, Worcestershire - Connection to Oliver Cromwell?
Here is an article which appeared in the "NOTES AND QUERIES THIRD SERIES - VOLUME FIRST January - June, 1862 Bell & Daldy, 186, Fleet Street, London Pages 52/53 Tilt Family. - The name of Tilt is a very rare one in England; one branch from Brighton is represented by Dr Tilt; another, and between which and the former no connexion is yet traced, came from Worcestershire, and is now extinct in the male line by the death of Charles Tilt - the millionaire. I am anxious, for genealogical purposes, to know from which locality, in Worcestershire, the latter branch is derived, and whether anything is known of its early history ? Also the arms borne by it, which (if I recollect aright) were figured on the family carriage - as "A chevron between three roundels; crest, a dolphin," - although the tinctures are unknown to me. It may not be generally known that this family co-represents a junior branch of the Protector`s house. One of the descendants of the latter kept a shop in Skinner Street, Holborn; he died leaving one or more daughters, from the issue of which the connection is traced. I should be glad to know the links, and whether the Tilt family directly married a Cromwell; or whether it was the heiress of her descendant who brought the representation to it. Several relics of Oliver Cromwell are in the possession of the descendant of a daughter of the Tilts; the most notable of which is a massive gold ring, with his arms, initials, and date, engraved on it. Malcolm Macleod" Can anyone shed any further light on this? Any info gratefully accepted.
