red mail Searching for family of John Downie.
I am searching for family of John (Jock) Downie, He was my step grandfather, he married my nanny Eileen MacPherson (nee O'Callaghan/Makete) in 1953 after WWII in New Zealand where he resided for the rest of his life. He was born 17th Feb, 1916 in Annan, Dumfreshire and passed away 8th June, 1995 in Rotorua, New Zealand. His parents were John (was a carpenter) and Susan Downie (nee McGuire) and a sister Margaret who he spoke of very fondly. My grandfather was in the 14th British Army as a signalman, his occupation was an automotive engineer. I would love to hear from any family of my grandfather's just to keep in contact as I have many photo's and postcards (written by Margaret) and would love to share with his family. I think of him alot and wish for him not to be forgotten as we are family. Jennifer.
