Henry Downey July 1853, born in Ireland Married Rosa Gleanon of Scotland in 1875. They immigrated to America in 1880. I would like to know any more information anyone can provide. They did have five children: Nellie, Sadie, James, Rosa, and Henry.

Looking to trace familytree for James Scott and his wife Elizabeth Neil who were married in Downpatrick in 1848. They came to live in Whitehaven Cumberland with their sons John and James. They then had more children born in Whitehaven. Their son William was my gt.grandfather. James fathers name listed as Samuel Scott. Can anyone help.

Looking for details about THOMAS HUNTER and his brothers SAMUEL, WILLIAM and JOHN. Thomas owned Hunter's Stores in Ardglass and Killough (Now Duffy's). Thomas Hunter married Sarah / Sally? (Gill from Sheepland) and she died in 1886. They had 5 children who died young but other known children are: ANNE JANE HUNTER 1840-1880; NATHANIEL HUNTER b. Abt. 1847; SARAH HUNTER, b. Abt. 1848; WILLIAM JOHN HUNTER (Died in Quebec); MINNIE (MARY ELEANOR) HUNTER, b. Abt. 1850; FRANCES (FRANCES AUSTIN) HUNTER, b. Abt. 1860; ALICE HUNTER; ALECK HUNTER; GEORGE HUNTER. Anne Jane married John Davis Williams in Bunbeg in 1865 and my husband is a direct descendant of theirs. Although I am looking for details about Thomas and his family, especially their origins I have a partial family tree of his descendants who stayed in Ireland that I am willing to share. Also now specifically looking for information on children of John Hunter who may have married Mary Ewart Norris. Headstone in Parish Church erected by Mary and John's son Thomas Hunter in memory of his parents, brothers and sisters. He was born in 1831 and emigrated to New York. He founded the Normal College in New York, later renamed Hunter College. Looking for information on this side of the Hunter family.

Any information re. this family gratefully received. Thomas Hunter & siblings Samuel, William and John emigrated here from Scotland early 1800's. Married Sarah; died 1872; had issue 5 children who died young, also George b.1844 m. Elizabeth Mary O'Neill from Bunbeg and emigrated to Liverpool c.1874, William John d. in Quebec 1873, Alice - unmarried,a schoolmistress in Ardglass, Sarah m.? Flynn had issue Nattie Flynn who ran "Hunter's Stores" on Kildare Street pre WW2. I descend from Thomas' son George.
