My Great Grandfather David Muircroft and his father Robert signed the Ulster Covenant in Carluke with connections to Darkley, Count Armagh. The name changed from Moorcroft to Muircroft when they moved to Scotland.

In the 1830s, Alexander Mcmullen was farming a plot at Townland Tullyvallan near to Newtownhamilton. Nearby were plots farmed by Thomas and son Adam Barber. Alexander Mcmullen had married a Sarah Barber and I believe that these groups were related. Any information about these people would be appreciated. The Mcmullen family went to the Second Newtownhamilton Presbyterian Church.

Wanting any information relating to Charles Gilliland and Helen(Ellen) Innes(Ennis) who were married in Newtonhamilton in 1854. They later moved to Scotland where the name was changed to Gilliand, had 5 children, immigrated to New Zealand in 1874. The eldest child Sarah (b.1856) never came to New Zealand nay information on her would also be greatly appriciated.

Hi trying to find any info on my G/father JOSEPH P CASSIDY & his family. he died around 1936 and believe he is buried in Keady Cathedral. He served with the Connaught Rangers and had a sister Mary MacCardle who lived at Church st, Keady. She had a son John & daughter Mary. We have very little info on him, he had a brother Michael Cassidy who emigrated to Brooklyn and joined the police there. Just starting my search so any advice info would be very welcome as over in Australia !!

I'd like any available information about Philip (Phillip?) and Catherine Farley. They apparently owned an inn or grocery/hardware store in Newtownhamilton. We believe that one of their sons was John Murphy Farley, Cardinal of New York (b. 1842). The Farleys would be our great, great, great grandparents. We'd like background info on them (parents, origins, etc.) and confirmation of the Cardinal being their son. Thank you. (Dec. 13, 09)

Patrick John O'hare son of Patrick and Catherine Tierney born 1868 migrated to USA New Jersey and we believe was an inventor of the O'hare gunsight. He died in 1939 at Maplewood NJ. He had 3 sons Marin, Francis &Charles. Ohare. His sister Teresa migrated to Melbourne Aus in 1887 on the Iberia and married Samuel Hamilton from Castleblaney, son of John Hamilton and Sarah Jane Rainey. John Hamilton migrated to NZ in 1863 and set up businesses with his five nephews, Gilmer, from Broomfield. Sarah Jane moved to Newtownhamilton and lived with her daughter Sarah and husband Alexander Burns. Her occupation was a Draper. Any information on the USA O'hares or Irish connections most welcome.

My husband's grandfather, Francis (Frank) McCooey, was born in Keady, Armagh Ireland in 1872. His parents were John McCooey and Rose McShane. They had several children. Many immigrated to America, as did Frank. We would love to hear from any descendants who might be stilling living in that area. Thank you
