I am the great granddaugther of Mary Jane Gaw and James Murland (Moreland). My maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Gaw Murland and the family immigrated to Canada. Most resided or still reside in Alberta or British Columbia. We are currently working on our 2008 Murland Family Reunion that will be held in 2008 in BC, Canada. Elizabeth was 17 when they immigrated to Canada. they homesteaded in Alberta for a number of years.

I am looking for info on Mary Jane Gaw she worked at Greyabbey in late 1800s right nexted to Ballywalter then she maried James Moreland then when they got maried he changed his last name to Murland they had 7 kids Nell, George, Henrietta, Willian, Lena, Elizabeth and James then they lived in Ballywalter until 1915 then they moved to Mauchine, Scotland.
