red mail James Sully
Looking for for my husbands Gt.Grandfather. He was James Sully, and his son Joseph was born in a workhouse in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal on Dec 25th 1884. James was with the Army there,(simply reads as 'machine gunner' 'The 13th Battalion') as Joseph is listed as a Military birth. James wifes name was Mary Anne. James would have been born about 1860 (give or take a few years) He must have gone on to serve in India (Peshawar) as this is shown as Josephs residence on his military papers. He died somewhere before 1914, as Joseph shows him as deceased on his marriage cert. in 1914. James may also have served in Malta, as Joseph returned to England from there at age 23 years. Joseph married Florence Marie Terry 4th October 1914, before going off to WW1.
