red mail Patrick Shanahan (1837) and Mary Shanahan (1838 Dowley)
I have made connections to the Dowley side - Mary's parents were Matthew and Catherine (Drohan). However no trace of Shanahans - they were boat people and lived in Carrick-on-suir. They had 9 children... Mary (1867), my grandmother came to Australia with her cousin Kate Dowley in the mid 1890's. Second sister of Mary was Catherine (1869). Love to hear from anyone...

red mail Patrick Dalton & Mary Walsh
Looking for info on Patrick Dalton, Slate Quarryman, who married Mary Walsh (date unknown). They had five sons that I know of, Patrick, born circa 1858 (died in Perth, Scotland, in 1882) Michael, circa 1864, Richard, circa 1866, William (my grt grandfather) circa 1873 and another Patrick circa 1885. All were born in Ireland. The sons all came over to Scotland to work in the slate quarries in Perthshire. All I know about my Walsh side of the family is that Mary had a brother Richard Walsh who married a Sarah Lanningan or Lonergan. They had four children that I know of, Bridget born 1864, Mary born 1867, James born 1871 and Patrick born 1873. Patrick also came over to Scotland. The Walshes also seem to have worked in the slate quarries. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
red mail MURRAYs in Carrick early 1800s
I am looking for information about a MURRAY family living in Carrick on Suir in the early - mid 9th century. My great great grandfather Philip MURRAY born ca 1814 enlisted in Kerragh in the 87th Regiment Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1837. He served in the 'East Indies' then 'at home'. He was discharged in May 1859, when he said his intended place to settle was Carrick on Suir. I have seen his military record but I do not know his wife's name or any other children apart from my great grandfather (Patrick Philip born 1846 who also served in the 87th). The family were Roman Catholic. Can anyone help me with information about this family? Can anyone tell me where I could find any church records of the time? Many thanks.
