red mail Help with a Birth, and the parents.
I am searching for the birth date, baptism, and parents of John Heiffy, born approximately 1800 in the Clogheen area of Tipperary. He joined the 8th. Regiment of Foot and later married a girl named Mary (maiden name unknown) The later census records state she was born in England (Margate?)but they may have met anywhere if she had been of a military family. NOTE --- John was documented as Heiffy on all his army documents, but on later census returns the surname is written as Haffey, and later still. --- Heffey, the latter surname being the family name in Liverpool to this day.
