Reid/Black of Clontyferagh, Corkhill, Montober
Hi, can anyone help with information about the family of my g-g-grandfather Robert Reid (abt 1831 - 7 Sep 1889) of Clontyferagh, parish of Kildress, near Cookstown, Co Tyrone. He had 4 children: Elizabeth (b. abt 1862, m. 4 Mar 1890 Robert Black of Drum, d. 28 Mar 1893); Matilda (m. 4 Apr 1893 John Black of Golden Hollow, Montober); Mary (m. abt 1893 Robert Cathcart Black of Montober - brother of Matilda's husband); and John (m. 21 Dec 1891 Annie Maria Watterson, who d. 11 Jan 1903, and then m. 18 May 1904 Mary Elizabeth Black of Doons; he lived in Clontyferagh to 1907, then moved to Gortreagh. His son Ernest may have emigrated to Canada in 1920). Also would like to know whether Robert Reid's family is related to Mary Reid (m. 10 Dec 1850 John Black of Corkhill) and Jane Reid (m. 14 Jul 1854 Leonard Watterson of Ballymulderg Beg, Co Londonderry) - all three Reids had a father called Robert and came from Clontyferagh. Any further information will be very much appreciated. Thanks. Rosemary.
