William Tunsted (Tunstead) born circa 1808 married Sarah Walsh born circa 1826 They emigrated to Australia in 1855 on the ship Mangerton. William's father was George Tunsted and his mother Mary Conners. Sarah's father was Edward Walsh. Their children were Catherine b.1856; George b.1857; William b.1859; Mary b.1861; Thomas b.1863; Sarah Ann b.1965. William's death cert. says he was born in Carlow (don't know if that is Co. Carlow or Carlow town) & married in Leighlinbridge. Would love any info about Tunsteds or Tunsteads in Ireland
Please, I'm desperate...does this ring a bell with anyone or could they ask anyone who might remember? My mother MARY VALLANCE, born 1937 in England, lived in Bagenallstown from about the age of 10 to about the age of 18 with her adoptive parents ALBERT & LILIAN VALLANCE (Lilian was related to the COMERFORD family of LEIGHLINBRIDGE) Mary became pregnant by a groom, they didn't marry. She would have given birth between 1950-1957, though it is more likely that it was 1955-57 and the baby was taken from her immediately, as so often happened with unmarried mothers in Ireland. I don't know the groom's name or the name of the baby, or even if it was a boy or a girl. Also, I'm looking for information on my great grandmother: KATE AGNES COMERFORD (Katie, Catherine or Katherine). She was Lllian's mother & she was born in LEIGHLINBRIDGE abt 1873. Her father was JOHN COMERFORD, a farmer. I know that she went to Wenhaston, Suffolk, & married HARRY OLIVER SNOWLING in 1891, & then lived in India. I would really appreciate any information about any relatives past or present of hers in Leighlinbridge.
