red mail Portavogie- William Clint
I am researching my great grandfather, William Clint, b. 24 Sep 1860 in Portavogie, son of Jane Clint, b. 1848 in Portavogie and William Thompson of Portavogie. Jane married Hugh Coffee 30 Dec 1892 and is buried with his family in the Old Ballyhalbert Graveyard under the name of Jane Coffee. William Thompson had a female relative, Mary Thompson, who was a witness and informant to William Clint's birth. William left Portavogie and arrived in Chicago in 1891. In 1892 he married Mary Curran, daughter of James Curran and Rachel Warnock. I am also interested in learning about William Clint, Jane's father, who was a blacksmith in Portavogie, b. 1812, d. abt 1892, and who is mentioned on her marriage certificate to Hugh Coffee. If anyone knows anything about this family, please contact me.
