red mail John HUDSON
John HUDSON was born c1819 (probably Ireland) and died 1875 in Casheltown, Portglenone, Ireland. He married Eliza CHESNEY 1843 at Grange of Ballyscullion. As far as I know there was only one son, David born 1844 at Casheltown, Portglenone and who married in 1875 to Mary McCLURE at 1st Presbyterian Church at Ahoghill. I think John's parents were John and Jean HUDSON but I would like to prove if I am correct. Any help with this family would be much appreciated.

red mail Johnston - McCullagh
Looking for information regarding the parents and family of John Johnston and Mary McCullagh registered as parents of Samuel Johnston bn 18.12.1872 at Portglenone, Ballymena. The 1931 Certified Copy of his birth certificate shows the 'informant' as '' the mark of '' Jane Johnston, nfd I believe that they also had a daughter Elizabeth bn c1870. Samuel moved to Scotland, married Helen Jane Millar in Greenock and subsequently settled in Dumbarton. Official documentation in Scotland shows Mary's surname recorded as McCullough, obviously a variation of her name. The Johnston family added a 'e' to the name in the mid 1940's. Family folklore has it that the Johnston's owned farmland in or around Portglenone.
