Death at Garlands Mental Hospital - burial location? Carleton
I am researching someone who died at Garlands Mental Hospital (Carleton) in 1937. She was aged 64 and had been a nurse, midwife and health visitor. I'm not sure if she was a patient at the hospital, or whether she was there as part of her job. I know the hospital has been demolished. I wondered if anyone might know where she would have been buried? Many thanks. Her name was Eleanora Hill.

I am looking for the family of William Stephens foster, born 45 North Street Egremont 1892. his mother was Mary Elizabeth Foster (domestic servant) and his grandfather William Foster of the same address was listed as retired farmer at the same address in the 1901 census. william was listed as age 8 at that time. William, also known as william Stevens Foster and William Stephen Foster married Agnes Bell in 1918 in Cleator Moore Church of England, William S. was listed as a sailor on the marriage certificate, but was also known to be an iron ore miner, underground. William and Agnes had 5 children, Gladys, Leslie, George, Margaret and May, who all went to school in Cleator Moor. Very much later, the family moved to Hounslow in Middlesex.George moved to Sydney, Australia with his wife Isabella and two surviving children Maureen and Michael Foster in 1960. William and Margaret left Ireland with their son Hugh Shaw Bell, Hugh being the only child to be born in Ireland, other children appear to have their births registered in Whitehaven Cumberland. other children agnes, margaret, Isabella, William John. HUGH married Eliza Morrison (24 Auburn st Belfast) in Christ Church, Church of Ireland 20 December 1919. their children William (Bill) Isabella, Maureen and John, who was a photographer with the Ulster Star newspaper. AGNES married William Stephen Foster I think in 1918 I also think that the marriage was registered in Whitehaven I also believe that william Stephen Foster was connected with the iron ore mine. children of Agnes and William Stephen Foster, Gladys, died of TB 1946, Leslie, Margaret(Pearce) George 4/8/1921 - 14/2/1997 (Ipswich QLD Australia) May(Green) MARGARET married Ernest W. Whitehead known as Harold, I think they had 2 sons Gunston and Norman. I know next to nothing about this family. WILLIAM JOHN I have no information about him at this time. Hugh Shaw Bell travelled to New York via Ellis Island in 1910 on the white star line ship Arabica (sister ship to Titanic) and returned on the same ship in the same year as a third class passenger. In the USA he stayed with his Uncle, Andrew Bell, who MAY have been a publican, Hugh was listed as a bartender and US citizen. How he became (or claimed)a US citizen before his arrival in New York I do not know. If anyone has any further information on this family, I would be most greatful. because Bell is such a common name my search has been difficult.
