CLARKE FAMILY - 48 CLIFTON ROAD CANNING TOWN
I am searching for any information / recollections that anyone may have on the CLARKE family who used to live at 48 Clifton Road Canning Town. They lived there in 1901 and still there in 1911. William Clarke (my Great Grandfather) was originally from Jamaica & lived here with his wife, Leah and children, Edward, William, James, Louisa and Frederick. When William senior died, Levan Young (Leah's brother) moved in. My Grandfather, Edward Levan Clarke became an officer in the Merchant Navy. I'm particularly interested in William Clarke Junior (known to some as Billy) who used to play the piano in silent cinemas and music halls. He left London for Scotland to join the Seaforth Battalion in WW1. Very little is known about him and I'm trying to piece together. Any information at all, good or bad, very welcome!

Calas / Politz / Turner- Stoke Newington or Canning Town or Shoreditch
I am looking for anyone researching Elizabeth Matilda CALAS (Nee HINTON- b 1854 - I of W) married to Daniel CALAS (b 1850 - Shoreditch). They had a daughter called Louisa Matilda CALAS (b 1878) who married Theodore Hilton POLITZ (b 1877). Louisa went on to have 8 children, the youngest of which was Irene (b 1919). I think Irene married Edward T G TURNER around 1940 and possibly had two sons John E G TURNER and Alan TURNER- John and Alan would now be in their 60's. I have addresses of 22 Ivy Lane, Shoreditch, 78 Clifton Road, Canning Town and 24 Cowper Road, Stoke Newington. I would love to hear from anyone researching this family as we are distantly related
