red mail Cole/Shaw Families possibly from Rath Mealtin Rathmelton, Rath Mealtain, Ramelton
I have a marriage between Charles COLE and Janet SHAW in Rath Mealtain 31 Aug 1817 (no source or documentation was provided). I know that the couple had several children there before they all moved to Scotland c.1825. I cannot locate the documents for this marriage or either of their births. They were likely born c 1790. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I have not searched for any Irish documents before. Thank you in advance.

ALGOE,WISHART,WATT, families Ramelton/Rathmelton Rathmelton, Rath Mealtain, Ramelton
I'm curious to find out more about the above families for my husband's family tree. William WISHART born 1819, Mariner, from Rotherhithe,London, England, married Margaret (Margery) Jane ALGOE. I have been unable to find a record for their marriage in Rathmelton, or their deaths in Ireland. In 1843 their daughter Jane Watt WISHART was born in Ramelton/Rathmelton, Co.Donegal.Margaret Algoe had a child,Catherine Rogers,in Rathmelton, in 1848,and married a local policeman,William Rogers,in 1849.(I'm assuming that William Wishart had died or disappeared without trace before then.) Jane Watt WISHART emigrated to Australia at some stage, and married Robert JOLLY in Victoria in 1865,they had 8 children. She died in 1913 in Ballarat,Victoria. If anyone has any knowledge of these families in Rathmelton,I would be very grateful for any information.

red mail Morrow, Robert and Lucinda Rathmelton, Rath Mealtain, Ramelton
Robert Morrow, (father is listed as William in emigration records) born Ramelton, Donegal, Ireland c. 1820s, married Lucinda Maguiness, 1848 Strabane. By 1855. they had emigrated to Queensland Australia. Here they were joined the next year by Lucinda’s mother, Margaret nee Blair. Lucinda and Robert produced a largish family – about 8 children, who in turn produced largish families, so that I sometimes think that I am related to everyone in Queensland. Are there any cousins four times removed or so, still there with family stories about the Robert who went to Australia. The clues are that they were protestant (CofE). Lucinda’s mother, known in the family as old Mrs. Maguiness, was Congregational. Robert was listed as having been a gardener. Rebel Morrow, an Australian eventer is also descended from Robert and Lucinda Morrow. My daughter Lucinda, B 1984, and I would love to find out more, and can share the family stories from Australia. I have photos of Robert and Lucinda, taken in old age. Rosie
