red mail John Ahern Glenomera Co Clare Glenomera
I am trying to find the birthplace and family of my GG Grandfather John AHERN (AHERNE AHEARN AHERON) born abt 1839/43 who immigrated to New Zealand in about 1862. According to family he was born in Glenomera Co Clare. The only thing I can find is "The Glenomera Estate" owned by the Arthur Family. I have come to believe that perhaps he and his family were workers who lived and worked on the estate, however as the estate no longer exists I am having trouble finding any connection. Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

red mail Broadford emigrants Broadford, Ath Leathen
hi I am interested in any emigrants from Broadford to Australia. I have put together a database of some 1000 odd immigrants to NSW c1848-1868. In particular I have an interest in any families from the Ballykelly townland, especially any branches coming from the family of Michael O'Brien & Catherine nee Reddan. The known names of children's families include: Garvey and McNamara who stayed in Ireland; Kunkel, Widdup and Hogan (in Australia) and Kinnane (Ireland & USA) I'd be very happy to hear from anyone with an interest in this area.
