red mail ROBERT WRIGHT - b.1777 - son of William and Ann.
Can anyone help me with some info about ROBERT WRIGHT, baptised in Chalfont St Giles on 5th June, 1777 ? His parents were 'William and Ann Wright' but beyond that I have not managed to go. I would love to know what 'William and Ann' were and where they came from. They are possibly the 'William Wright and Ann Brown' who married in Finchley on the 8th August, 1774 (information from the IGI.) Robert Wright was variously an agricultural labourer (of course), a 'farmer' and 'a hay dealer'. His death certificate records him as 'a chaff cutter'. He lived in Colham Green, Hillingdon (across the border in Middlesex) and died in 1863, at the advanced age of 87. His wife Mary was from Hayes in Middlesex, and was the same age as her husband. I have not found her maiden name or a record of their marriage. Is it likely that they would have married in Hayes or Hillingdon ? HELP! Many thanks.
