Ivy Adelaide BRICE / Cecil Sidney George JOPE
I am looking for any information on my Dads parents, as named above. My Nan, Ivys Dob was 3rd August 1912 and Dod was 24th January 1961. My Grandad, Cecils Dob was 24th March 1918. He was born in Scotland. A death certificate can not be found. The date of marriage was 17th March 1950. Cecil has been married two times prior to this, and once after. Four marriages in total. Cecil was in the RAF. Ivy was originally from Taunton in Somerset. Any information will be extremely helpful. Thank you, Kerry
red mail James Watson, late of Chatham Kent
I'm seeking info on James Watson (born abt 1816) and Ann Elizabeth Woods, a milliner (born 1819 in Parsonstown). They were married at Kororareka (now Russell) in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, in 1841. In the newspaper announcement of his son's marriage in Australia in 1875, James is described as "late of Chatham, Kent". The same announcement says the son, George, is "the nephew of James Rolleston of St Kilda, Parsontown Ireland".
red mail Lost relatives
Grandmother, Emma Bennett, adopted a boy, Bobby, born c 1949. Any info appreciated, they lived in Whyman Avenue. I have a half sister born to Dennis Bennett circa 1950, no futher detail available, believed she was brought up by her mother who was unknown to me. Again any info appreciated.
red mail John Meek, Clerk at Fort Pitt, Chatham
I am trying to find out a bit more about my 3 x Great Grandparents John and Mary Ann Meek. I have no proven details for them but I know that John was described as a Clerk at Fort Pitt on the baptism of their daughters, Mary Ann (B 1811), Elizabeth Massett (B 1814), Sarah (B 1817), Charlotte (B 1819) all baptised at St Mary's Chatham together on 5 July 1820. There was also a son, John Meek born 1820 who married Harriet Usher in 1839 in St Mary Newington and they were my 2 x Gt Grandparents. John was a Police Officer. I have a possible marriage between John Meek (senior) and Mary Ann Inment Brayley (B 1789) on 21 August 1808 in Dover but other people researching the same family have him as marrying Mary Ann Norwood in 1806 in Marylebone. Both these marriage records are Banns so there is no other information to prove which is correct. As John was working at Fort Pitt at the time of his children's births, I find it more likely that he married in Dover than in Marylebone. I would appreciate any help with finding out more about him.
Somers/Tricker/ Worthington
Trying to trace Elsie Tricker via her grandson's surname Somers first name unknown. Grandson's wife is Jacqueline and it is believed that they had twins born in Poole hospital c2002. If anyone can put me in touch with this family I would appreciate it. Mr Somers' Grandmother Elsie M Tricker has a cousin who has lost touch with her and would like to re-establish contact if Elsie Tricker (born c1918) is still alive. The family were believed to be living in Cosham in WW2. Elsie's husband Jack A Tricker, a naval man, died in 1951 in Chatham. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
My gt grandparents William and Jessie Joanna THEOBALD lived in New Road Rochester and Letchworth Avenue Chatham from about the middle of the 1800s to the early 1900s. Their youngest daughter Kathleen Hilda POLES nee THEOBALD was my maternal grandmother. William was a tobacco manufacturer. Their children were Reginald (killed in action 1919) who was wounded and awarded the military cross in 1918, William junior, Mabel, Doris (who married Hector KENNEDY), Ethel, Jess (who married Roland STEPHENS) and Kathleen and 1 other. William senior's father was also William and his mother was Amy. There were family links to the SPENCELAIGH family (Jessie's parents were William and Mary Ann SPENCELAIGH with a link to the famous artist), the RICHARDSON family, KIRTON family, Fairfax SHELDON and ELLIS families. I have lovely photos of the family in an indexed album. William may have come from London, possibly Whitechapel. If you have any information I would be very grateful to hear from you and share info and photos. Thank you
