I am looking for the village/town that my great grandparents lived in, married in and had four children. I believe MARY JANE MC AULEY (father James McAuley/mother Jean Ferguson) married JAMES SIMPSON (father Thomas Simpson/mother Mary Johnston) possibly in 1846. They emigrated to Lanarkshire Scotland between 1855-1858. Their children were Elizabeth 1849, Jane 1852, James 1853 and Mary 1855 born in Ireland. They had 9 children... Mary (1867), my grandmother came to Australia with her cousin Kate Dowley in the mid 1890's. Second sister of Mary was Catherine (1869). Love to hear from anyone...

Looking for information on the HOUSTON family of Kilkeen, County Down. My information shows that Richard HOUSTON, born circa 1750 married Jane PATTERSON, no birthdate of marriage information. Their son was William HOUSTON, born 1782 who married Mary Ann NEWELL, born 1782. They had eight children, all born in County Down. Isaac, Ross, William, Robert, Richard, James, Jane and Thomas. Jane and Thomas were twins. William and his family emigrated to Canada in 1831, settling in Chatham Townshihp, Ontario, Canada. If anyone knows any more information about this family in Ireland, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.
