I am looking for any information about my ggrandfather. He was born DONALD CAMPBELL in 1870 in strachur, mother was JANE CAMPBELL,born 1850 in strachur, his mother and fater never married as far as I know but his name was ARCHIBALD FERGUSON don't know where from or what age, I only know he was a farm servent, I know its not a lot to go on , don't think he came from strachur, so if anyone can help that would be great .:-)

I am looking for the birth dates and parents of John McLean, born abt 1802 in Strachur, and also Mary McDougall, born at 1806 Strachur. They married on 13 Dec 1827. I have found only one child of this marriage, Ann, no birth date, who married a Hugh McKellar in Greenoch in 1868. Does anyone have any information?

My family have lived in Strathlachlan and Kilmoden for hundreds of years and there is a rich story to tell. If anyone shares my interest please let me know. My grandfather John and before him his forebears ran the post office at Sunfield Strathlachlan till 1947, John was a tailor and crofter. Legend has it that we were burnt and chased out of Glenstrae by the Campbells
