Isaac Brown (draper and tailor) pre 1798and his wife Maria Griffith
Am trying to trace the birthplace of my ancestor who per marriage records in 1798 was recorded as"of this parish" but no details exist of prior citizenship of Deal. He was born in 1773 (location not known) and died in 1836 and buried in Deal along with his wife Maria(born 1774 and died 1814. Would love to know where he and his wife came from. Her maiden name was a Maria Griffith (also location not known). Is it possible(as i live in the West Country) for someone who is near to Canterbury to check for any Settlement records for this person as i believe that in setting up a business in a parish sufficient funds had to be shown. Can anyone help me as this is my last hope of finding his details. Regards. Michael.

red mail Harris
Seeking information on the John Henry and Susan Harris family who in the 1911 census were living at 57 Blenheim Road Deal. John was then 61, an assistant Superintendant in the Prudential Assurance company. He was the second son of John and Mary Ann Harris and was born in 1850 at Dawlish. Susan nee Hughes was born in 1856 at Nether Stowey Somerset. Their only known descendant was their son Clifford born 1889 at Nether Stowey, who according to the 1911 census worked as a clerk for his father. Any information appreciated.

Isaac Griffis Brown born 1839 in Deal
As per 1851 census he was a Merchant seaman on a coal carrying vessel named "LAMB" travelling between Deal and Anglesey (was registered in Newcastle) and would like to know if he remained at sea but believe that he later got married and settled down.No record of his return to Deal so presume he may well have resided in the Northumberland or Durham area. Does anyone have any information on this chap.
