red mail Whitworth/Richardson Keswick
My proven lineage is a Mary Richardson she married an Isaac Whitworth in Jan 1803 in Crosthwaite, (Keswick), Cumberland./ they had 4 children all baptized in Crosthwaite: Mary, who died in Crosthwaite in 1816; then William; Hannah, and Ellen. All called Whitworth. The trail then goes cold. Mary was a pauper in Crosthwaite poor house before marrying Isaac. She had 2 sons out of wedlock while an inmate, Joseph (1794) and Stephen(1797). Both called Richadson, they stayed in the then Cumberland. I am seeking the whereabouts of the Whitworth family, the children who were all christened in Crosthwaite, Cumberland, England. Isaac Whitworth married a Mary Richardson in 1803, in Crosthwaite. They had 4 children; Mary, who subsequently died in 1816, in Crosthwaite; William; Hannah, and Ellen. They were all baptized between 1803 and 1811. There are records of these baptisms. No trace of any of the family is available since the death of Mary, that I can find. What happened to them all? Has anyone any knowledge? I would be grateful of any clues. There are NO census returns that list a Whitworth as having been born or baptized in Cumberland???
