red mail SUGDEN, Maria and Robert
I have just started trying to look into my ancestors and have reached my great grandparents who I believe to be Maria and Robert Sugden, who ran a grocer's business in Keighley according to the 1891 Census. By 1901 Maria is shown as a widow, aged 56, running the business. I believe they had six children, George Greene, Sarah, William, John, Clara and my grandfather Harry. I think their parents were William and Elizabeth. I cannot track any info regarding Maria, particularly their marriage or her maiden name, or the parents William and Elizabeth. If anyone can help with any scraps of information I would be so grateful. Thank you, Pauline.
red mail Percy Stead b 1878 and Ada Stead b abt 1881
I am looking to establish the parentage of the above, both born in Keighley. I am having some success with Percy - it looks as if he is the illegitimate child of Emily Harriet Stead but I cannot pin down even the birth of Ada. However, I am assuming that she and Percy are siblings because both are recorded as living with their aunt, Fanny Broadbent, in the 1891 and 1901 censuses. Percy is still with her in 1911. Does anyone have any information? Thank you. David.

red mail Stephen H Howell
Stephen H. Howell married Mazilla L. Barker in Coventry during 3rd Qtr 1921. I believe they may have had a daughter Gladys M. Howell, born 4th Qtr 1923 in Ripon. Gladys might have married Kenneth Spence during 2nd Qtr 1948 in Claro, Yorkshire West riding. The 1945, 1946 and 1947 Phone Books for UK finds a Stephen H. Howell living in Keighley, West Yorkshire. If anyone knows of this family, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Regards, Philip
