red mail Smith, Tapson, Launceston
My great-great-great-grandfather was Joseph Smith of Launceston. a grocer in the town. He was born in 1791 and in 1819 married Ann Tapson, also of Launceston. They had two children, Caroline Tapson Smith (sometimes later refered to as Catherine Tapson Smith), and Charles. Sadly Charles died as an infant, and in 1826 Ann also died at the age of 36. Joseph then disappears from all records that I can find. Any information on him woulb be welcome. I believe his father was also called Joseph, and his mother was Martha Holman, 1767-1827.
