I have family details for Maria Norton (Norden), from Burwell, on 1871 census aged 15 she was working as servant in Cambridgeshire, believed possibly Linton, for Anne and William Willis.

Researching JAMES B DAY(e) born c 1806, a free settler, who migrated to the Swan River Colony ( Western Australia) aboard the "Eliza", arriving in Rockingham on 3rd March 1831. Married SARAH ANNE CHEATHAM and two sons were born, JAMES JOHN(died as infant) and WILLIAM HENRY ROBERT who married SUSAN HYMUS. Her father was FREDERICK HYMUS and also came from Cambridgeshire.

My GG Grandmother Julia Norden was born in LINTON in 1864. Her father Christopher was the son of Richard Norden (1807), a blacksmith in the village. His father William (1780) married Mary LOFTS (1776). Her parents were William Lofts and Ann PILGRIM (1752). The names Norden/Lofts and Pilgrim often appear in Linton. Does anyone have any information about any of these families? Your help would be much appreciated. Terry

The 2nd child of Susannah (nee KING) & Robert ADCOCK was Robert ADCOCK, born 5 Mar, 1783, bapt. April at Linton. He was a Widower aged 68, a farmer, in the 1851 Census, nd died 1854 at Saffron Walden. He had 3 known daughters:-Harriet ADCOCK married Thomas GREEN, Grocer; Emma married 11 July 1838 Richard SQUIRE of Nosterfield End, (..."in high style at the Quaker Meeting House. There were 6 or 8 carriages..." Barnabus WEBB 1760-1846, the Diarist of the Haverhill area";) Priscilla ADCOCK married ...HOLME. All 3 received bequests from their Aunts Susannah ADCOCK d. 1868 Will (Archdeaconry Court of Sudbury Ref. 6.534 & Elizabeth WESTON nee ADCOCK, no issue.Will proved 1866.KJI

The 7th and final child of Susannah (nee KING) & Robert ADCOCK was Harriet ADCOCK, born 1800 in Linton (died 1892) She married 2 June 1829 Henry MARTIN (..."married with great splendour, Dr MARTIN gave Henry away...they had two postchaises to carry them to the church...".."It was a fine day..." Barnabus WEBB, 1760-1846, Diarist of the Haverhill area.) Their children were:- Harriet MARTIN, Frances Elizabeth MARTIN, Mary Ann MARTIN, Mary Ann MARTIN, Henrietta MARTIN, Henry John MARTIN. All received bequest in their Aunt Susannah ADCOCK's Will, 1868 Archdeaconry Court of Sudbury Ref. 6.534
