Charles Garrod
I am seeking information on a Charles Garrod born about 1890, possibly earlier, in London. He served in the Kensington Met police and transferred to the Hong Kong police at some point. In 1912 he thwarted an assassination attempt on the incoming Governor of Hong Kong when he was a sergeant. He subsequently rose through the ranks, married an Eileen in Hong Kong and had two daughters. I understand he returned to the UK, after WW2, and died in the early 1950s. I have not been able to establish any positive details for him. Any help especially his time in Hong Kong would be appreciated by family members. Keith

Phillip Lawton BRIDGES
Phillip Lawton BRIDGES was a conman and is a stonewall in my tree that I have been trying to break down for 20 years! He was born in 1856 in the St George East register district and emigrated to Australia in 1877 where he moved around the states and got into seriously trouble with the law.He was definitely in South Australia in 1900 as he was incarcerated for 2 months there. After that his trail goes cold, although family rumours have him turning up in Western Australia after that.If any member can find his death record or that of his long suffering wife,Mary BUSHBY,born 1864,Lancing,Sussex,England,then I would be more than grateful.
